With any point of sale solution the head office is a vital component, but it's the back office that runs your day-to-day business for your customers. The back office works as a 'Compact-Head Office' managing each transaction, but it has no physical link to your businesses accounts software package. Instead, transactions and ledgers are reconciled automatically either overnight or periodically during the working day with the head office accounting solution over a secure broadband VPN link.
This means that each one of your sites becomes an independent body, not reliant on the head office for day-to-day trade. So even if you are performing maintenance on your head office hardware, normal trade can continue at each of your sites.
